ARMAND HEITZ CHASSAGNE MONTRACHET 1ER CRU MORGEOT BLANC 2021 750ML

Morgeot has long been the flagship appellation of Chassagne, always highly representative of the style of this village. The wines are more or less rich depending on the clay content of the soils and the winemaker's approach. The origins of the appellation’s name appear to come from the Latin Margo, meaning “edge” or “border.” In fact, Morgeot lies on the departmental border between Côte d'Or and Saône-et-Loire, corresponding to an ancient Gallo-Roman frontier. A magnificent 12th-century building constructed by the monks of Cîteaux, located in the heart of the appellation, is now crumbling. When we see the budgets invested in building sheet-metal structures in China, it says a lot about our willingness—or lack thereof—to respect our own history.
