Syrah

Originally from France (Rhône Valley), although it is the most planted grape in Australia, where excellent Shiraz (as the original Syrah is called there) is produced. It is an ovoid-shaped grape and the size of a berry, with which robust wines are produced with spicy aromas, such as green pepper, tobacco, chocolate, as well as notes of blueberries or red plum. For this reason, it is usually recommended as a pairing with exotic or highly spicy foods (lamb shawarma, Asian pork or Indian tandoori, for example).
