Merlot
This grape, native to southwestern France, is the second most important traditional variety for great Bordeaux wines. Merlot wines boast a certain color intensity, a medium-high alcohol content, and light aromas of cherry, plum, chocolate, vanilla, licorice, and tobacco. They are medium-bodied with pleasant tannins.
