Carmenere

Grape from Bordeaux (France). It was considered extinct after the phylloxera plague, until it was rediscovered in Chile (where it was confused with the Merlot grape) in the mid-1990s, becoming the emblematic grape of that country. It produces wines with moderate tannins, with medium acidity and medium body. Its main aromas are red fruits (such as strawberries or raspberries), black plums, green pepper, herbal notes, pepper and vanilla.
