Carménère

A grape from Bordeaux (France). It was considered extinct after the phylloxera plague until it was rediscovered in Chile (where it was confused with the Merlot grape) in the mid-1990s, becoming the country's emblematic grape. It produces wines with moderate tannins, medium acidity, and a medium body. Its main aromas are of red fruits (such as strawberries and raspberries), black plums, green pepper, herbal notes, pepper, and vanilla.
